To lead, direct & manage the Small & Medium Enterprise (SME) Banking function through setting & achieving P&L targets in line with corporate planning & budgeting guidelines
Acquire, develop, & manage the relationship with SME customers in Kuwait, through sound planning, identification of needs & assisting a team of SME In-charges, Team Leaders & Relationship Managers in their marketing efforts & targeted sales whilst maintaining high credit quality

Develop & effectively cascade the Wholesale Banking strategy into SME Banking strategy & effectively translate it into business plans to ensure vertical alignment & horizontal integration with other interfacing functional strategies
Contribute & provide inputs to the development of the overall Wholesale strategy in line with the overall business objectives
Achieve SME Banking objectives through setting individual objectives, managing performance, developing & motivating staff, provision of formal & informal feedback & appraisal in order to maximise subordinate & the overall performance
Organisation Structure
Recommend an optimum organisation structure for SME banking in coordination with Organizational Effectiveness & Strategic Manpower Planning so that resources are optimally utilised & communication can take place in an efficient manner
Targets & Budgets
Prepare & recommend the SME Banking budget & monitor financial performance versus the budget so that the business is aware of anticipated costsrevenues, & areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified, rectified promptly & potential performance improvement opportunities are capitalised upon
Manage the SME banking function by effectively setting & achieving P&L targets in line with corporate planning & budgeting guidelines
Sales & Customer Management (SME Banking)
Undertake the necessary actions in order to maximize product penetration & cross selling for small & medium enterprises
Ensure that required support & guidance is provided to the subordinates In-charge & Relationship Managers team in all marketing efforts & customer visits & also monitor performance to ensure that the managed team achieves set targets
Direct & manage relationships with SME banking customers in Kuwait through systematic planning & ensure that the team of SME In-charges, Team Leaders & the Relationship Managers are regularly identifying their needs in order to generate sales across the bank-wide product suite
Ensure that appropriate support from product specialists is received for effective cross-selling of cash management (inclusive of trade finance), treasury & consumer finance products
Works with the Head of Distribution to ensure that the SME In-charge & the Relationship team receive all support & guidance from the Branch Manager to capture sales opportunities & deliver on SME customer needs
Product & Program Development (Program Financing Development)
Oversee product & program development (design, development & enhancement) to ensure products are in line with Wholesale Banking strategy & guidelines
Provide inputs & market demand insights to the team in developing products which are commercially viable & also meet the required market demand
Oversee the development & enhancement of credit scoring models & credit programs in order to facilitate informed decision making to meet organizational & customer needs
Credit Approval
Review credit approval memoranda & approve them as per authority levels in order to ensure quality & completeness of all CAMs before sending them to Credit for CAM Review
Ensure collaboration with Credit & Credit Enhancements functions with regards to credit approval applications & credit enhancement action plans
Direct the analysis of corporate customers risk profile in order to appropriately secure the required credit approvals
