24-03-2018The purpose of this position is to perform duties and functions as listed below with the overall objective of preparation of project estimates in support of the lead project estimator or his/her designee. Primary Job Duties/Functions: 1. Coordinates and provides limited direction of estimating functions to provide high-quality estimates to upper-level estimators in a timely manner, in which the information is reconcilable to source data 2. Prepares estimating procedures used on projects/proposals
3. Participates in improving techniques for estimating 4. Acts autonomously on smaller projects 5. Provides general supervision and/or administrative direction to a staff of estimating personnel on larger projects 6. When acting as lead, coordinates and directs the estimating functions on projects to provide guidelines and reports for responding to client and project management requirements
7. Utilizes estimating methods and the expertise of other project professionals to establish total project estimates. 8. Engages in direct contact with other functional areas, including client and field contractors
9. Maintains and supports the office estimating database and information such as escalation indices, rate of exchange variation, productivity, etc.
10. Executes indirect and conceptual estimates with direction
11. Defines the intent and use of the estimate based on an understanding of the Proposal and/or Contract Terms 12. Coordinates estimate development activities with the Project Estimator or B/L Estimating Manager 13. Works with Engineering disciplines to prepare the Estimate Schedule 14. Assists in the development of Home office and Construction Budgets 15. Further refines understanding of indirect and conceptual estimating theories and techniques
16. Prepares analysis reports to substantiate or defend the Estimate 17. Coaches others in basic understanding of supervisory techniques 18. Coach others in basic understanding of Estimatings role in Baseline Centric Execution
19. Other duties as assigned Working Conditions:
1. On-site project work space which may include moving, mechanical parts and vibration; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and various levels of outside weather
