Job Description

Assist in performing all tasks necessary to achieve the organizations Vision & Mission
Work with the CEO on the strategic vision and assist in the development and negotiation of contracts
Participate in developing new business, specifically assist the CEO in identifying new funding opportunities, the drafting of prospective budgets, and determining cost effectiveness of prospective service delivery
Prepares the hospital capital and operating budgets according to the hospital needs and submit to Hospital Director for primary approval
Participates in the Leadership Executive Committee for final approval of the hospital budget together with the approval of General Manager
Prepares for the establishment of departmental budgets with the departmental heads as components of the hospital budget
Ensure adequate controls are installed and that substantiating documentation is approved and available such that all internal processes may pass independent and governmental audits
Oversee the management and coordination of all fiscal reporting activities for the organization including organizational revenueexpense and balance sheet reports, reports to funding agencies, development and monitoring of organizational and contractgrant budgets
Develop and maintain systems of internal controls to safeguard financial assets of the organization
Monitor banking activities of the organization
Train the Finance Unit and other staff on raising awareness and knowledge of financial management matters
Ensure adequate cash flow to meet the organizations needs
Oversee Accounts Payable
Oversee the maintenance of the inventory of all fixed assets
Identify in writing the scope of services provided by the department and coordinate the provision of those services with other departments as needed
Recommend space, equipment, staffing, and other resources needed by the department and have a process in place to respond to shortages
Ensure orientation and training of staff of the duties and responsibilities for the department or service to which they are assigned
Participate in the selection, prioritization, and monitoring of hospital-wide key performance indicators (KPIs) to improve quality and patient safety
Select department-specific KPIs and report the data to the Quality Improvement & Risk Management Department on periodic basis
Assess the impact of improvements including efficiency of complex processes, andor reductions in cost and use of resources
