Job Description

Job Purpose:Manage the Financial Accounting Function as listed in primary accountabilities in accordance with the Financial Framework & Governance policy, liaising with multiple stakeholders including external audit, government entities for statutory reporting including half and full year reporting.Driving the month end process across finance and ensuring all elements are closed accurately and within timeframes.Excellent relationships will be built and maintained with all stakeholders to drive a culture of fiscal and commercial responsibility and to facilitate Financial knowledge transfer & acumen at all levels.The Head of Finance Controller is responsible and accountable for managing the following core finance functions and ensuring these serve the business to meet its requirements working across all work streams. Note it is not possible to list these in order of importance and they are interlinked and are largely managed in parallel.Functional Knowledge • Financial Reporting & Accountingo Manage the month end process ensuring that all Finance sub ledgers including and not exhaustively, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Fixed Assets, Accruals & Pre-Payments, are reconciled and closed as per timetableo Accountable to ensure that the Financial Statements reconcile and reflect a true and fair representation of the business • International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) Accounting Standards & Conceptso Lead within the Finance Organization as the technical expert o Keep abreast of pending changes and advice of the impact to the business o Ensure changes are made and planned • Audit and Government Returnso Preparation of the half and year-end Financial Statements for internal reviewo Management of the Audit schedule and day to day liaison during this process o Responsible to ensure that all government returns prepared for internal review as stipulated while ensuring accuracy A. Education Requirements:• Bachelor Degree or Degree equivalent , Masters preferredB. Work Experience:• 10 years post qualification in a core Finance position with external reporting• Top 5 Audit background with Construction Audit experienceC. License / Certification / Accreditation:• Professional Accountancy Qualification e.g. CPA. CMA, ACA ,ACCA, CIMA D. Language Requirement:• Excellent verbal and written English• E.
