Description Overall purpose of role The EMEA Private Banking teams offer bespoke banking and investment solutions to high net worth clients in various international locations across UK, Ireland, Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Barclays Private Bankers act as trusted advisors to clients providing bespoke banking services, lending and wealth structuring, in addition to a world class range of investment solutions and products across all asset classes. This management role will take responsibility and accountability for the management of the Private Banking Front Office in Duba, including management of the Private Bankers. They will be responsible for the local implementation of all global policies and procedures of Barclays and will advise on policy application, best practice, transaction application and new products, with the support of the Business & Sales Management and Sales Support Management and Business Assurance. The Head of Front Office will report directly to the Location Manager and will work actively with the Market Managers and our other Private Banking platforms across Europe. Direct reports will include Desk Heads & Team Leaders, and therefore indirectly Senior Private Bankers & Private Bankers that report to Desk Heads, Team Leaders and Senior Private Bankers. The Business Delivery & Sales Management team and the Control team will also work closely with the Head of Front Office The Head of Front Office will also work closely with a number of other stakeholders, such as Marketing and Investments. They will oversee the day-to-day operation of their area and will work closely with the Head of Business Delivery & Control, and the functional teams such as compliance, risk management, credit and finance. Key Accountabilities Day-to-day management and coaching of Front Office staff in the location, including robust sales management discipline of bankers utilising the Client Advisory Framework, managing towards a high performing team, service excellence, acquisition of new clients and ensuring risk and control functions are being performed. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the below: Managerial Responsibilities Manage, supervise and coach/mentor the Desk Heads / Team Leaders and Senior Private Bankers including developing and upgrading talent as necessary Carry out regular monthly reviews with each Desk Head & Senior Private Banker, covering activities, client book review, asset accumulation, revenue production, governance and oversight and agreeing a clear set of actions to improve performance Achieve asset, revenue and margin targets as well as demonstrating effective cost discipline Formally supervise the activities of the Desk Heads , Senior Private Bankers & Private Bankers within their Group, including mid and full year performance reviews, compensation and promotion decisions, as well as hiring and induction of new staff Ensure clear communication to the team of wider business objectives, including Location and Market goals as appropriate Make a demonstrable contribution to development of new and emerging talent within EMEA and other areas of Barclays as appropriate Business and Sales Management Achieve team asset, revenue and margin targets with the balance of affordability, cost discipline and risk & control management. Provide leadership and direction to the Front Office staff as well as developing and executing the team strategy to achieve growth and revenue targets, driving consistent, high quality delivery. Driving change through client needs analysis, business prioritisation, and resource management Actively support the acquisition, servicing, development and retention of clients to achieve the team budget and business plan Ensure rigorous activity management of the sales process Ensure effective local cost discipline New Business Origination/CRM Management of a Front Office group business plan Identify, develop and secure new relationships through personal and client referrals, Barclays group internal networks and corporate and investment banking sources Ensure the Private Bank achieves targets for new clients, assets and revenues Maintain the current book while expanding in high growth markets Maintain and build upon performance of profitability and product management Develop and implement client acquisition/prospection strategy for the platform, supporting the bankers in the prospection and development of new clients Help develop cross-referral streams in Wealth, group and externally Work closely with bankers on high level client relationships Increase levels of service and delivery to existing and new clients at all times Work closely with Investments in order to provide innovative and world class financial solutions to meet client needs Performance Management Accountable for overall Front Office locational performance management, ensuring performance objectives for each team member, and carry out regular monthly reviews with covering activities, asset accumulation, revenue production and other objectives as required Instil a high performance culture across the respective platform, with a particular emphasis on excellence in sales management process and activity Mentoring/Coaching drive a clear plan in each location for developing and upgrading skills of junior and non performing bankers, rigours management of consistently poor performers Ensure banker business plans and asset accumulation plans are in place and completed to a high standard Demonstrate rigorous performance management of all revenue producers Governance and Control Core accountability for running an Audit Ready platform, at all times Instil a high compliance / control culture across the respective platform, with a particular emphasis on achieving excellence in scorecard and dashboard results and positive BIA / Monitoring & Surveillance reports Truly front to back focused with the ability to identify functional gaps, short comings and to constructively engage with BD&C & Infrastructure partners to address them Responsible for adherence to core Barclays and specific Market/locational regulations Demonstrate leadership and ownership for maintaining the highest possible standards of risk management, compliance and governance within your team by ensuring individuals engage and operate in accordance with: - Regulatory requirements in relevant local jurisdictions - Barclays Policies, Procedures and principles of governance - Barclays Training & Competency framework our right to sell Overall responsibility and oversight for cross border sales management across the location/market
