Job Description

JOB PURPOSE:
Lead the Logistics & Planning function to ensure the business & customer services objectives are timely met optimising cost and agreed inventory levels in order to maximize sales and market share for company. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Description Performance Indicators
Strategy, Policies, Process and Procedures
Contribute to the development of logistics & purchasing strategy and develop logistics policies, process and procedures in order to provide a consistent and disciplined approach to implement the logistics plan. Logistics Policies, Processes and Procedures are formulated, recommended, approved, communicated and implemented. Budgets & Plan
Develop the annual budget for Production volumes in line with the overall business budgets and plans
Prepare Packaging Material Budgets Warehousing & Distribution Budgets for Logistics
PM Budget actual v s budgeted monitored through monthly PPV reports issued by Finance.
Operations
Implement and manage a production planning process which reflects sales needs with consideration to, plant, labour and raw material priorities and constraints.
Manage material planning on a monthly basis to meet sales requirement and communicate it to suppliers to get the materials on time with agreed inventory targets & without interrupting production.
Maintain agreed stock targets and levels in line with sales requirements, storage capacity, production abilities and market demand fluctuations.
Maintain the safety standards in warehousing operations to ensure a safe working environment.
Manage the RMIT & FG (EXPLAIN) warehouse operation to ensure the stock accuracy is in line with the company target
Analyse the machine capacities versus actual demand for a specific time period to meet productivity Changes of production plan at 2 per month max due to material availability. Daily production meetings & weekly production plan performance.
Properly allocating the orders. BOM accuracy PM, RM, FG Stock Cover days Warehouse space & utilization with minimum stock outs.
Zero Safety Incident
Maintain stock accuracy item wise
Implemented on time to increase the productivity of the area. % utilization of machines
Suppliers
Develop strong relationship with suppliers as business partners in order to support business objectives.
Monitor Supplier performance in line with service level agreements New supplier identification with better cost and quality. On time Deliveries % Rejection
Supplier performance meets SLAs
Customer Service
Deliver on time to customers and regional warehouses to avoid stock outs and enable the sales Team to achieve their sales targets.
Customer service level should be achieved within agreed SLAs. Order picking accuracy rate Product Development
Lead the new product development & Initiatives in coordination with production, quality and marketing department to deliver it on time.
Number of initiative delivered on time.
Plan the feasibility timely as per the requested Quotation request to enable marketing department to arrange the project commitment.
Human Resource Management Select, train, motivate and retain the logistics staff of the right calibre to achieve the logistics objectives through appropriate objective setting, performance management, training, development, coaching within HR process guidelines and timescales. Logistics objectives are achieved through well motivated staff. (shared accountability with HR)
% retention (Shared Accountability with HR)
Performance levels are in line with productivity targets & comply with the performance management guidelines and timelines.
Recognition and reward of staff is in line with their contributions. MIS & Reports
Direct the preparation of MIS reports for management review in order to facilitate decision making.
MIS reports are presented timely and accurately and meet management requirements.
