Job Description

The overall scope of this role is to coordinate and assist in all operations of the Purchasing, Receiving and Storeroom Department

Key Responsibilities

- Responsible for following and understanding all Kempinski Policies & Procedures

- Responsible for behaving in a professional and harmonious manner and following the Kempinski code of conduct

- Responsible for maintaining a good relationship with business partners

- Assist the Purchasing ManagerAsst Purchasing Manager for working together with the Chef in order to obtain the best products and prices available; reviewing market list and offers daily

- Assist the Purchasing ManagerAsst Purchasing Manager in ensuring that competitive bidding is taking place and that business is awarded fairly and ethically

- Assist the Purchasing ManagerAsst Purchasing Manager for monitoring slow moving and dead stock as well as keeping the stock levels in accordance with operational needs

- Coordinate and assist in ensuring that all deliveries and issues are documented and processed correctly

- Assist in ensuring that communication is taking place with all departments in regards to matters that would in any way affect the operation

- Coordinate and assist in ensuring that all areas are secure, organized and clean

- Responsible for performing any additional duties assigned by the Purchasing ManagerFinancial Controller and assisting in other areas of Finance as needed


Desired Skills & Qualifications

- Minimum 2 years kitchen experience

- Ability to work as part of a team, thrive under pressure in challenging circumstances and come up with proactive, rational solutions

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Excellent organizational and time management skills

- Applying a professional, confidential and ethical approach at all times

- Working in a safe, prudent and organized manner

- English - excellent oral and written skills

- Ability to operate computer and office equipment

- Proficiency in Excel and Word is beneficial
