Overview ResponsibilitiesAmec Foster Wheeler is recruiting a Contracts Manager, to be responsible for the commercial management and co-ordination of a major PMC project in KuwaitProject SummaryThe Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) is implementing a major project, the Clean Fuel Project (CFP) which comprises the upgrade of two existing refineries The Clean Fuels Project is a major upgrade and expansion of the existing Mina Al-Ahmadi (MAA) and Mina Abdullah (MAB) refineries The objective is to increase the overall throughput by, bpsd to, bpsd and to increase conversion of fuel oil to higher value products to meet expected market demand and specs for low sulphur content transport fuels* Communicate commercial contractual risks, threats and issues to both Amec Foster Wheeler and KNPC* Effective team work with members of the Amec Foster Wheeler core management team in Kuwait and KNPC and with the contract and project teams managing the packages* The ability to work alone and in the team to achieve objectives and deliver results* Effective work planning* Competent with MS Office, standard business software and the use of metrics to monitor and report on all tasks in progress* The ability to overview situations, review and evaluate, and provide appropriate advice and guidance* Problem solving at a strategic level, working with others to reach a resolution* To establish and maintain long-term working relationships with KNPC and EPC Contractors* Support the commercial teams in the commercial management of the EPC Contractors contracts* Negotiate contract changes, handle claims and ensuring that the agreements with the EPC Contractors meet KNPCs contracting requirements* Intervene, analyse, manage and resolve business conflicts between Amec Foster Wheeler, KNPC and the EPC Contractors* To report efficiently and effectively on contractual issues having the potential to materially threaten the overall program* To provide both advice and support other teams in terms of the legal threats and obligations placed* To participate as a member of the management team playing an active role in the management of the Projects overall program* To demonstrate leadership in fitting with the role within the overall core management team and with KNPCSkills Qualifications* Degree Qualified* Minimum of years industrial experience* At least 8 years experience in a similar role* Recent experience in PMCEPC organisations in the field of RefineryPetrochemicals industries* Must have handled contract administration work for major projects of value not less than US$ million each* Extensive exposure to high value complex engineering projects* Track record in leading a commercial team* Previous Amec Foster Wheeler experience preferred but not essential
