Lead Fire Inspector(KBO)We are committed to an inclusive and diverse workplace that values and supports the contributions of each individual This commitment along with our common Vision and Values of Integrity, Respect, and Responsibility, allows us to leverage differences, encourage innovation and expand our success in the global marketplace Vectrus is an Equal OpportunityAffirmative Action Employer All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, protected veteran status or status as an individual with a disability EOEMinorityFemaleDisabledVeteranDescriptionPOSITION SUMMARYThe Lead Fire Inspector performs a variety of supervisory, technical, and administrative work in the supervision and administration of fire suppression and fire prevention activities of the fire department Assists in the planning, direction and coordination of various activities of the fire prevention services program including a comprehensive inspection program of all listed base facilities to detect and eliminate hazards at the assigned installation Plans, administers, and supervises the fire prevention education program Assists with the development of base fire regulations, training programs, and fire hazard assessment schedules Monitors and coordinates Hazard Assessment Inspection Program, Public Fire Prevention and Education Program Reviews construction and modification plans, confers with engineers and provides technicalfunctional assistance on fire prevention and building design criteria Reports directly to the Assistant Chief of Fire Prevention and Training or in hisher absence the Deputy Fire ChiefMAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES1 Performs inspection activities in commercial structures and businesses and performs other activities designed to prevent fires2 Investigates fires, determines cause and origin, and completes all reports as required3 Educates the public regarding fire prevention and fire warden duties 4 Investigates complaints and answers questions regarding fire hazards and the violation of fire safety regulations5 Surveys fire protection facilities, such as the location of fire extinguishers, and maintain various inspection records6 Instructs fire personnel in fire prevention techniques7 Participates in fire drills and classes; assists in preparing maintaining required reports8 May instruct fire personnel in the operation and care of fire equipment9 Supervise and train subordinates when required and performs all other assigned duties as neededMATERIAL and EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USEDValid drivers license; must be able to obtain a US Government Motor Vehicle Operators license and Kuwait Drivers license to facilitate travel throughout all of ASG-Kuwait to support the Fire Department activities and interests Must be familiar with Microsoft Office-Suite and various other US military and department information management software programsWORKING ENVIRONMENTWork is generally conducted in an office environment with many outdoor activities to include site visits at ASG installations throughout Kuwait Will involve working outside with potential exposure to extreme high temperatures with dry and dusty conditions Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations PPE includes but not limited to head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devicesPHYSICAL ACTIVITIESLiving and working conditions at the assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditionsQualificationsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSHigh School Diploma or equivalent, DOD, IFSAC, or National Pro-Board Certifications Fire Officer II, Fire Inspector II, Fire Instructor II, Fire Investigator (preferred), Plans reviewer (preferred) Note If selected for the position candidate must obtain both Fire Investigator and Plans reviewer within monthsExperienceMinimum five (5) proven years of experience in fire emergency services as a Fire inspectorFire InvestigatorSkillsKnowledge of fire prevention and fire suppression methodsKnowledge of safety principles pertaining to fire protectionKnowledge of fire hazards common to commercial, industrial and residential structuresAbility to prepare reports and make recommendations Knowledge in the area of construction and modification plans reviewSUPERVISORYBUDGET RESPONSIBILITIESSupervises a diverse group of fire inspectors within the area of fire preventionPrimary LocationKuwaitClearance Level required at Start DateSecretTravelNo
