Job Description

**This is a contingent position based on contract award and funding from the customer**LocationCamp Arifjan, KuwaitClearance LevelAbility to obtainPrimary FunctionCaliburn is seeking a Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) for a potential project in the Middle East The SSHO will be responsible for developing and organizing the administration and maintenance of SafetyHealth and loss control programs to minimize the frequency and severity of accidents and injuries This position is contingent upon award of contract This position is contingent upon award of contractResponsibilities Develop and initiate policies and procedures ensuring safetyhealth measures are implemented and maintained Prepare and conduct training programs related to UOSHA, OSHA, and DoD regulations Performs other related tasks as required Read and comprehend risk management related information and assist departments in applying that information in reducing safety liability Review and analyze all non-reportable vehicle accidents, near-accidents, first report of injuries and supervisors accident investigation reports; follow up with injured employees and work with departments to help employees return to work as soon as possible; meet with department safety representatives and supervisors to analyze problem areas and determine corrective actions that will reduce high frequency accidents Attend monthly safety committee meetings; attend and present various topics at department safety meetings; work directly with camp and unit safety representatives to implement needed safetyhealth and risk prevention training Ensure all buildings, facilities and operations are inspected semi-annually to identify and minimize safetyhealth risk exposures; work with unit representatives to plan, develop, and implement safety and loss prevention programs Conduct worksite inspections and training to ensure proper environmental work practices are followed Conduct periodic audits of units to ensure compliance with policies related to UOSHA, OSHA, and DoD regulations Other duties as assigned by managementJob Requirements Bachelors degree in Risk Management, Industrial Safety and Health, Safety Engineering, Safety Management or a closely related field Two years of progressively responsible risk management or safety related experience preferable in military environment or an equivalent combination of related education and experience Knowledge and experience with the EM 385-1-1 Safety and Health Requirements Manual Certifications in safety andor risk management such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Associate of Risk Management (ARM) preferred Ability to obtain and maintain a US Security ClearancePhysical Requirements and Working ConditionsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear and taste or smell The employee must occasionally lift andor move up to 50 pounds Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focusWho We AreAbout Caliburn Internat ional, LLC We are a leading provider of professional services and solutions to US federal government agencies and commercial clients We provide consulting, engineering, medical, and environmental services as well as large scale program management in support of our core markets of national defense, international diplomacy, and homeland security client readiness Caliburn employs over 8,000 dedicated professionals deployed across five continents The co mpanys website is www caliburnintlcom This job d escription is to be used as a guide for accomplishing company and department objectives and is not intended and should not be construed to be an all-inclusive list of responsibilities, skills, efforts or working conditions associated with a job Management reserves the right to modify, add or remove duties from particular jobs and to assign other duties as necessaryCaliburn is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE) Employment selection and related decisions are made without regard to race, color, national origin, religion, sex, disability, veteran status, gender identity, and sexual orientation, and other statuses protected by law
