Site Safety and Health Officer TF SAFEWhy IDS?IDS believes in resolving conflict and building innovative approaches to do so Combining operational expertise with an intimate understanding of todays greatest challenges to bring our customers the solutions required for success in a complex and multidimensional world We tailor solutions for a diverse range of government, military, nonprofit, and public-sector clientsIDS is seeking a Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) to support the Task Force Safety Assessments for Fire and Electricity (TF SAFE) contract The SSHO will implement and manage a program safety plan in accordance with EM 385-1-1 Safety and Health Requirements Manual This position is contingent upon contract awardResponsibilitiesDevelop and initiate policies and procedures ensuring safetyhealth measures are implemented and maintainedPrepare and conduct training programs related to UOSHA, OSHA, and DoD regulations Performs other related tasks as requiredRead and comprehend risk management related information and assist departments in applying that information in reducing safety liabilityReview and analyze all non-reportable vehicle accidents, near-accidents, first report of injuries and supervisors accident investigation reports; follow up with injured employees and work with departments to help employees return to work as soon as possible; meet with department safety representatives and supervisors to analyze problem areas and determine corrective actions that will reduce high frequency accidentsAttend monthly safety committee meetings; attend and present various topics at department safety meetings; work directly with camp and unit safety representatives to implement needed safetyhealth and risk prevention trainingEnsure all buildings, facilities and operations are inspected semi-annually to identify and minimize safetyhealth risk exposures; work with unit representatives to plan, develop, and implement safety and loss prevention programsConduct worksite inspections and training to ensure proper environmental work practices are followedConduct periodic audits of units to ensure compliance with policies related to UOSHA, OSHA, and DoD regulationsPerform other duties as assignedRequired QualificationsLicensed ElectricianOSHA CertificationsPreferred QualificationsActive SECRET Security clearance (DoD)Computer SkillsWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)Employee needs to be able to sit at a workstation for extended periods; use hand(s) to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear Most positions require ability to work on desktop or laptop computer for extended periods of time reading, reviewinganalyzing information, and providing recommendations, summaries andor reports in written format Must be able to effectively communicate with others verbally and in writing Employee may be required to occasionally lift andor move moderate amounts of weight, typically less than 20 pounds Regular and predictable attendance is essentialQualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability or protected veteran status, and any other characteristic protected by federal, state, and local law
