TRADE SHOP SUPERVISOR(KBO)We are committed to an inclusive and diverse workplace that values and supports the contributions of each individual This commitment along with our common Vision and Values of Integrity, Respect, and Responsibility, allows us to leverage differences, encourage innovation and expand our success in the global marketplace Vectrus is an Equal OpportunityAffirmative Action Employer All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, protected veteran status or status as an individual with a disability EOEMinorityFemaleDisabledVeteranDescriptionPOSITION SUMMARY Supervise the daily operations of a Facilities Maintenance Branch trades shop in support of the Facility Maintenance Manager The Trades Shop Supervisor provides technicaloperational guidance and supervision to employees and teammates to ensure compliance with the performance work statement (PWS) for the following functions operation and maintenance of facilities, infrastructure, and utilities in the Area Support GroupKuwait (ASG-KU) area of responsibility through inspections, preventivecorrective maintenance, and customer-generated work orders received through the facility work order reception desk Directs the work of subordinate staff in a variety of repairs or maintenance of facilities and equipment The work requires knowledge of the principles, building codes, and materials of two or more trades, supervisory techniques, personnel policies, and procedures Support capabilities may include maintenance sections (Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, Carpentry, Generators, Power plant, Sewage Treatment Facility and Heavy Equipment), Wood Shop, Self-Help Shops, Custodial and Facility Installation Key Shops MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES 1 Assist the Facilities Maintenance Manager in providing a safe and secure workplace 2 Conducts and oversees the preventive and corrective maintenance programs 3 Evaluates all maintenance request forms, sets priorities, and process work assignments 4 Monitors all operations of the Facilities Maintenance staff 5 Conducts training on life safety and other programs 7 Provides reports on all life safety, quality, and maintenance issues 8 Performs routine inspections of all maintenance sections 9 Analyzes equipment data and trends along with team member input; formulates the maintenance program Selects and assigns staff, ensuring equal employment opportunity in hiring and promotion Coordinates activities by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities, and directing the work of subordinate employees Evaluates and verifies employee performance through the review of completed work assignments and work techniques Identifies staff development and training needs and ensures that training is obtained Ensures proper labor relations and conditions of employment are maintained Maintains records, prepares reports, and composes correspondence relative to the work Makes requisitions andor purchases supplies, materials, and tools Confirms work specifications with building codes Estimates cost of materials needed to accomplish tasks Studies blueprints and diagrams to plan materials and labor needed to accomplish tasks Inspects buildings, equipment, infrastructure and construction sites to determine materials and labor needs by visual observation, gauges, meters, and other test devices Conducts surveys and research to determine program needs and to develop more effective policies, practices, and proceduresQualificationsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS EducationCertifications Two years related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required High School or equivalent experience License, certification or trade school in at least one of the following trades Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, Carpentry or Heavy Equipment Experience Five () years of facilities maintenance experience with 2 years in a supervisory capacity of a similar projectdepartmentbranch related to these functions Must be able to demonstrate good oral, written and listening skills Must possess strong knowledge in a skilled-trade (electrical, HVAC, plumbing, andor carpentry) Skills 1 Knowledge and understanding of the US Army Public Works system and procedures is preferred 2 Knowledge of the US Army supply and procurement process is preferred 3 Ability to demonstrate leadership and management skills in a professional demeanor 4 Ability to work effectively with employees and management of all levels to include multi-national staff, superiors, and ranking military officers 5 Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills 6 Collaborative work style fostering cooperation and teamwork 7 Ability to handle confidential company and employee information with complete discretion 8 Ability to prioritize responsibilities in order to handle a demanding workload 9 Ability to anticipate internal client needs Effectively communicate in English, both verbally and written Basic proficiency in Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook applications High-level organization and planning skills so workflow is managed efficiently and accurately Ability to read, analyzes, and interpret reports and documentsPrimary LocationKuwaitClearance Level required at Start DateSFPTravelNo
