Division Groundwater Div Position Description Saudi Aramco, the worlds leading oil and gas company, is looking for an experienced Hydrogeologist for its Groundwater Division Minimum Requirements a Bachelors degree in Geology, Civil Engineering, or related sciences A Masters degree or higher in Hydrogeology or a related science will reduce prerequisite work experience stated in (b) below by one year b Ten years of work experience in hydrogeology, including groundwater flow and solute transport modeling c Strong mathematical and software skills and demonstrated competency with PC based modeling, spreadsheet and word processing applications d Knowledge of water supply well design and construction methods e Demonstrated ability to analyze complex aquifer tests f Fluent in verbal and written English g Excellent reporting and communication skills h Experience of working effectively in multidisciplinary teams to plan and execute projects i Familiarity with oil and gas exploration and development operations would be an advantage Minimum Requirements a Bachelors degree in Geology or a related science Graduate study in a specialized discipline of Geology, a related science or other extended special training is desirable b Ten (10) years of experience, including at least 5 years as a specialist in his discipline Incumbent must be recognized for his study efforts in his principle discipline by his peer group c Fluent in both spoken and written English Duties & Responsibilities The successful candidate will be required to analyze, interpret and map hydrogeologic and hydrochemical data to assess aquifer systems and groundwater resources design new water wells targeting a variety of aquifers with detailed completion requirements tailored to meet specific water supply goals design and conduct pumping tests of water wells and perform advanced test analyses to best evaluate well productivity, aquifer characteristics and groundwater chemistry develop conceptual groundwater models and build and refine simulation models for groundwater flow and solute transport use the groundwater simulation models to assess the impact of the Companys activities on the groundwater resources to ensure their optimum management and protection mentor and train junior staff
