Position Description The core function of the Kingdoms Energy Strategy Department organization is to advise the companys management and external (ie, government and private) stakeholders on domestic energy outlooks, domestic economic evaluations, domestic fuel and feed stock pricing, macroeconomic outlook, and international energy policies and regulations, besides assisting in strategic planning and domestic energy strategy formulation The Kingdoms Energy Strategy Department serves as the center of expertise on a wide variety of strategic issues that are of great impact in the domestic energy landscape to ensure sustainable economic development Kingdoms Energy Strategy Department is seeking a Senior Industry Development Consultant competent in analyzing the Kingdoms energy demand in the industrial sector, understanding the issues surrounding local industries and how they impact Saudi Aramco The Specialist will be working with Consultants and other senior staff in the organization to communicate these issues to corporate management The Specialist should have experience in data mining, processing and analysis from various sources in the Kingdom He should demonstrate the ability to work individually and with multidisciplinary teams producing reports, studies and presentations that are pivotal in shaping managements decisions Minimum Requirements At least 15 years of experience in energy intensive industries, preferably in the chemicals, steel, cement and aluminum industries Consulting experience combined with at least 4 years of experience in these areas could be considered Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, Financial Management or closely related speciality, a Masters degree in engineering, finance or economics and PhD degree in related field is preferred Strong mathematical and analytical skills with experience in the use of spreadsheets and statistical tools Knowledge of modeling and forecasting is preferred Strong written and oral communication skills to individuals and groups from diverse professional backgrounds at all levels both within the organization and externally Experience in the region, particularly in Saudi Arabia Knowledge of Arabic is preferred Ability to work effectively with minimum supervision and on relatively unstructured tasks Intellectually curious and keeps abreast of topics that affect the evolving energy markets, alternative energy developments, and global environmental and trade issues Able to perform consistently with changing deadlines and shifting work priorities Duties & Responsibilities The Senior Industry Development Consultant will help the Corporate Advisor and Senior Economists through the following Assist in developing robust short-, medium- and long-term energy outlooks for the Industrial sector in Saudi Arabia, taking into consideration such factors as government policies, customer requirements, planned capacity expansions, market trends, technologies and other related factors Provide expert judgment, by way of thorough analysis on queries from management involving the economic and business issues of this sector Develop studies on the impact of Saudi Aramco actions on the Industrial sector in Saudi Arabia in order to understand the impact of Company plans on the Kingdoms energy consumption Provide periodic commentary on developments in key industries in Saudi Arabia such as chemicals, cement, steel and aluminum Search, organize and analyze data of the major companies in the industrial sector in Saudi Arabia and the region Develop and use energy supply and demand models and other statistical tools to preform studies and research work Assist in the training, development and mentoring of younger staff Represent Kingdoms Energy Strategy Department by delivering high level industry talks and seminars to visiting entities
