Position Description The core function of the Kingdoms Energy Strategy Department organization is to advise the companys management and external (ie, government and private) stakeholders on domestic energy outlooks, domestic economic evaluations, domestic fuel and feed stock pricing, macroeconomic outlook, and international energy policies and regulations, besides assisting in strategic planning and domestic energy strategy formulation The Kingdoms Energy Strategy Department serves as the center of expertise on a wide variety of strategic issues that are of great impact in the domestic energy landscape to ensure sustainable economic development The Senior Transport and Building Energy Efficiency Consultants role will mainly consist of developing and preparing for implementation of countrywide energy efficiency programs These programs will focus on curbing energy demand growth in Transport, Buildings, Urban Planning and Environment sectors of Saudi Arabias economy A high-profile position, it will involve frequent interactions with key internal and external stakeholders, including relevant policymakers This role will include the following working as a part of a dynamic and fast-growing team; helping to determine success in this critical area and deliver critical projects for Saudi Arabias energy sector; and influencing the future of the worlds top 20 economies We plan on reaching new heights in energy efficiency, as well as harnessing Saudi Arabias solar, wind and geothermal resources By offsetting local energy demand, we can positively influence communities at a regional and global level Minimum Requirements 15 years of experience consulting in energy efficiency related fields, dealing with policy setting, implementation and monitoring Experience in working with energy efficiency funds and energy service companies is preferred Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, Financial Management, or a closely related specialty is required; a Masters degree in Engineering, Science, Energy Economics or a related field, and a PhD degree, are desirable Proven program development and implementation track in energy efficiency topics across the Residential and Transport sectors Demonstrated engagement with private industry, government agencies and regulatory authorities at high levels is preferred Proven ability to communicate complex material in a simple and engaging manner to internal and external stakeholders Due to frequent interactions with key stakeholders, strong presentation and negotiation skills are preferred Highly proficient skills in written and spoken English Fluent Arabic is a plus Ability to work independently and without supervision even when faced with unfamiliar issues Experience in quickly analyzing and synthesizing large amounts of information Demonstrated ability to develop creative yet practical and implementable solutions to complex multidisciplinary problems Duties & Responsibilities As the Senior Transport and Building Energy Efficiency Consultant, you will be required to perform the following Develop energy efficiency programs for Transport and Building sectors in Saudi Arabia Align with relevant stakeholders on energy efficiency strategy and details of particular initiatives Prepare the program for implementation in cooperation with other stakeholders Manage the implementation process as required by programs governance Participate in special projects related to energy efficiency Track and report milestones related to energy efficiency projects, including costs and benefits Support external communication of energy efficiency projects Establish scheduled and ad-hoc reporting to the team leadership members and other senior stakeholders
