Job Description

Health & Safety and Environment OfficerJob Location UAEJob Description Liaise with UAE Government (eg Freezone, DMCC, Labor, Warehouse requirements) and arrange permits and documents required and meet the H&S standards of UAE Health & Safety policies and procedures Take a proactive approach to implement the H&S culture Assist Senior Management to develop controls for identified hazards and coordinate the implementation of controls Maintain an emergency response plan (eg evacuation plans, fire drills, first aid drills) Maintain a network of effective relationships with both internal and external customers to ensure safe conditions for all Conduct regular safety meetings Coordinate and conduct safety inspections regularly to identify workplace hazards, training needs, unsafe practices and take corrective action and make recommendations Analyse, interpret, and report on incidents and accidents During an inspection, look for possible hazards (eg locked fire doors, blocked exits, wet floors and loose floor tiles) Ensure that first-aid kits are well-stocked and fire extinguishers are easily accessible to employees Assist the Management with the development, review and implementation of policies and procedures and monitor adherence Ensure and evaluate the effectiveness of the hazard control systems, policies, and procedures and recommend changes that reflect improved opportunities to eliminate work place accidents and injuries Measure Health & Safety Compliance and conduct audits on physical conditions and safe work practices Stay up-to-date regarding legislation, regulations and standards affecting Health & Safety Ensure that all incident accident investigation information are accurate and completed in detail Ensure that safety-related training records, accident reports and other documents are completed and stored properly Maintain important information on boards, posters, safety signs on a regular basis Assist the Management with the design of training material and coaching and mentoring on safety-related items Coordinate safety training for employees and new employee orientation Ensure all training documentation is completed and review training feedback Assist Management with special projects and initiatives as and when required Maintains a full working knowledge of current and emerging Health & Safety changesJob Requirements IOSH Managing Safety (or equivalent) NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) Food Safety Qualification UAE H&SE 3 years (Preferred) Retail management 3 years (Preferred) UAE Driving License (Required)Interested candidates can send their CV
