Job DescriptionAbout HSBCHSBC is one of the worlds leading banks, with a network covering countries and territories Our global reach means we offer many ways for you to develop your career We offer an inclusive, values-led culture, tailored learning and development programmes and competitive benefits We have roles in retail, commercial, investment and private banking and a range of operational and functional teamsRole OverviewCore Security Engineering is comprised of network, computer and data security and will become a global IT Security function delivering IT security consulting, design, verification and oversight of all technology that processes HSBC data The role requires the job holder to be part of the IT security team with the prime focus of securing the IT InfrastructureDuties and ResponsibilitiesDesign and oversee the implementation of security technical solutions and associated processes and controlsDriving adherence to IT security principles in ITSecurity product selection and implementation with associated processes and controlsVerify remediation of infrastructure and application security findings are appropriate and meet IT security standardsDefine monthly goals to address any backlogs and new engagementsCo-ordinate and undertake infrastructure security reviews for MENA and GroupAssess information risk and produce an audit report and follow up for remediation with ITExtend good relationship with the IT teamAddress information risk related queries from businessDesigning and recommending appropriate and practical counter-measures that enable the Business to operate as efficiently as possibleDevelop a risk-aware culture within the functionReview the quality of deliverables from the teamPrepare reports, statistical data and other documentation using word, spreadsheets and database systemsThe role of IT Security Manager - Infrastructure will be to handle activities relating to platform security engineering stream of IT Security The job holder will need to build relations with corresponding functions within Group IT Security to ensure regional activities are alignedThe job holder will require to manage the relations with senior members of regional and Group HOST teams and will be guided by the entity and functional managersThe job holder operates within the policies, procedures set by the Group and regulatory requirements within MENAExperience and QualificationsBanking or Financial Services Industry experience requiredExperience across multiple platforms Active Directory (AD), Windows, UNIX, Databases, and Network devices Firewalls, IDS, and Proxy etcCrisis response and recovery; Excellent working knowledge of security principles (such as authentication, auditing, risk management) and elements (locking systems, perimeter controls, firewalls); Good knowledge of risk management, configuration management, and disaster recovery; and A wide knowledge of IT hardware, software, operations and networks Experience of the operation and management of equipment and applications used in Firewall environments, eg Firewalls, IDS, (Network and Server based), Routers and Switches, Remote Access, etcUnderstanding of security tools used in the industryKnowledge of AD, forensic analysis tools, control of Viruses, Hacking counter measuresAbility to prioritise work to successfully deliver service to agreed levels in a diverse and constantly changing technical environment; Effectively co-ordinate delivery of services involving elements delivered by other internalexternal teams; Find logical solutions to problems and manage to resolution; Ability to recognise security threats and vulnerabilities in the system development lifecycle orproduction environment and detail security requirements which match the perceived business risk;
