Vacancy Details 6142 - Manager - Risk and Compliance

Location UAE - Dubai

Business Unit SCHOOL SUPPORT CENTRE

About the Role Job Purpose

Support current business Drive and continuous improve the (implementation of the) Group Risk Management program within the Groups main market United Arab Emirates (75 PERCENT )
Special projects leadsupervise the development and implementation of the groups Risk Management and Corporate Compliance projects, such as but not limited to GRC software development and implementation, and project risk management (25 PERCENT )

Key Responsibilities

Group Risk Management Framework Implementationcompliance in current business
Responsible for the Group Risk Management framework in case the VP Risk & Compliance is absent
Implementation and maintenance of all aspects of the risk management function, including the implementation of processes, tools and systems to identify, assess, measure, manage, monitor and report risks
Conduct risk workshop and awareness sessions, tailored to different types of risk management maturities
Support GEMS departments and entities with risk assessments, which involves identifying, describing and estimating the risks affecting the business
Support GEMS departments and Entities with risk evaluations, which involves comparing estimated risks with criteria established by the organization such as costs, legal requirements and environmental factors, and evaluating the organizations previous handling of risks

Establish and quantifying the organizations risk appetite, ie the level of risks they are prepared to accept
Risk reporting in an appropriate way for different audiences, for example, to the board of directors so they understand the most significant risks, to business heads to ensure that they are aware of risks relevant to their parts of the business and to individuals to understand their accountability for individual risks
Providing support and training to staff to build risk awareness within the organization
Development and implementation of group performance monitoring of key corporate risks and business generic performance criteria (such as, but not limited to financial, enrolment and Health & Safety)

Special projects
leadsupervise the development and implementation of the groups Risk Management and Corporate Compliance projects

Business Continuity
Drive the effective implementation of the Group Business Continuity Management program with a strong focus on IT Disaster Recovery
Support School Support Centre departments in the risk-based development and implementation of Business Impact Assessments
Support School Support Centre departments in the risk-based development and testing of Business Continuity plans

Corporate Compliance
Support identification, capturing and monitoring of regulatory compliance related risks Support the Corporate Compliance function with the monitoring of key group obligations

Stakeholder Management
Work effectively and pragmatically with key stakeholders, across new business acquisitions and current business, to manage the effective implementation of the Risk Management framework

Continuous improvement
Continuously review of the Risk Management framework, its processes, reporting templates and supporting risk management tooling to ensure that Risk Management is implemented in an effective and pragmatic manner

Reporting
Support the VP Risk & Compliance in the development and compiling of the Board, Risk & Audit Board sub-committee and Group Senior Management leadership reports

Risk & Compliance general awareness
Obtain and maintain minimum technical knowledge and practical experience in the Corporate Compliance and Business Resilience areas, to be able to provide back-up support to these functions

Qualification

Bachelors degree or equivalent, preferably a Master degree or equivalent

Expected Experience

5- 8 years Risk & Compliance experience in a non-financially driven risk management role

The preferred candidate has a mix of advisory (Big4 or specialized risk management consultancy firm) and line experience in a multi-national company
