Experience within Financial Services, preferably Commercial Banking
Experience leading Global strategic projects

Experience in Stakeholder Management in a matrix across Local, Regional & Global management structures and virtual groups
Role Purpose
To build and manage one of the HSBC Learning Academies in the MENA Region so that a world class, cost-effective learning curriculum is designed, developed and delivered to enable the business strategy The Regional Academy Head manages the relationship with the senior management team of the business in collaboration with the relevant HR Generalist Head They translate business strategy into pragmatic learning requirements which are prioritized and agreed with the business according to a robust business case The business-specific curriculum is built by drawing on the global direction for the academy and, wherever possible, content from the Solution Centers
Principal Accountabilities
Impact on the Business
Works with colleagues to build the Learning Academy against a specific functional business and develop learning curricula and content that delivers the following benefits to the business
A fit-for-purpose learning curriculum that builds people capability
World-class programmescourses within the curriculum
Learning solutions integrated with career paths
Globally consistent solutions where appropriate, but ensuring regionallocal needs are met
Use of e-Learning and blended learning
Use of a variety of channels, within the HSBC Business School (both a virtual e-presence and face-to-face trainers); e-channels such as podcasts; business subject matter experts, coaching etc
Alignment to the business communication strategy so that availability of world-class learning solutions is recognised internally and externally, leading to improved employee engagement and recruitment success
Greater understanding of the cost and effectiveness of learning, enabling businesses to make better-informed decisions about learning spend
Customers Stakeholders
Builds effective working relationships with
Key stakeholders within the business including senior management, business sponsors, communications teams and HR Generalists
Members of the HSBC Business School including the Global Academy teams, Solution Centre Heads Leads, Regional Academy teams and 3D team
Uses these relationships to
Ensure that the strategic learning needs of the business are understood and that appropriate learning is commissioned, designed, developed, sourced and delivered
Influence the design and delivery of global programmes and content and apply local customization so that these are relevant to the business audience
Understand the strategic business drivers and how revenue is generated so that relevant business and product training is commissioned and built
Leadership & Teamwork 
Behaves in line with the vision for the HR Function and energetically drives towards it, as part of the wider Learning, Talent, Resourcing and OD (LTROD) team, with a shared sense of ownership
Provides strategic drive to design, develop, and deliver learning programs within the Academy framework
Provides thought leadership within the Academy framework and is recognised as a thought leader
Facilitates collaboration between Academy colleagues and Solution Centres as required to build, and design content and courses
Effectively communicates LTROD strategy and broader HR and business related people strategies
 
Operational Effectiveness & Control 
Makes sure the Academy curricula are designed to deliver learning in the most effective and efficient way, considering size of audience, location and learning objectives; using the most appropriate delivery methodschannels
Supports regional Business School colleagues and HR to ensure a seamless delivery of Academy programs
Identifies, communicates and leverages best practice within and across Academies to ensure consistent world-class solutions are used
Contributes to the design of the overall HSBC Business School
Implements standard Business school frameworks, metrics, KPIs and reporting for the Academy and ensures that these are reported to demonstrate achievements and progress in building capability
Knowledge & Experience Qualifications 
Business Knowledge Extensive knowledge of the business and how revenue is generated to inform role based curriculum design which contributes to long term sustainable business performance
Learning Expertise – Demonstrates extensive experience and track-record relating to L&D strategies, design channels, processes, methodologies and technologies
Delivering in a Commercial Environment – Experience of aligning Learning solutions to business needs in a highly commercial manner Also experienced in leveraging shared resources and infrastructure to maximize cost-efficiency
Project Management – Strong track record of translating business objectives and needs into L&D solutions through appropriately setting objectives, targets, deadlines, cost management, quality and project management best practices Needs to demonstrate that this ability can be exercise over regionally distributed teams
Transformational Change - Exposure to supporting organizational change agenda with L&D solutions
International Contexts – Experience of working in a culturally and geographically dispersed business
Exposure to Governance Mechanisms – Exposure to the challenges of implementing a regulatory agenda within a business
Consultancy Exposure - Experience of working inwith first-rate consultancies that set stretch benchmarks would be desirable
Team Leadership- Experience of leading teams of L&D professionals, raising standards within the function and improving the profile collectively of HR within a business Must demonstrate excellent leadership skills
Financial Management – Experience of managing budgets
Financial Services Experience - Exposure to working in a financial services organization, gaining an understanding of the market and particular challenges facing the industry from a HRperspective
Inter-personalprofessional skills - Strong influencing and negotiating skills with excellent written and verbal communication
