The Production Manager will be responsible for Plant Performance Ensure that the desired production volume (tonnages), productivity and product quality are attained Direct the production, corrugator, converter, printing, finishing and maintenance departments to produce as efficiently as possible Analyze Production and take timely and corrective action Review production reports by machine crew in all departments Work closely with the production management team and help them to achieve operating objectives Reduce waste Direct Supervisors to train all operators to analyze data collection and take action Monitor and analyze job cost reports, collect data, determine cause and take corrective action to inform and improve Ensure that equipment is kept clean and in good working order and that maintenance work is called for when necessary to ensure the efficient operation of all equipment Ensure that all weekly plant cleaning are completed to achieve a high standard of cleanliness and organize all departments Participate in preparing Plan Objectives for the plant operation Approve all objectives established Take the appropriate and necessary steps to ensure actual expenditures Vs budget Set objectives to achieve vision Record and measure results versus objectives Establish reward and recognition systems to celebrate success Recommend improvements in the plant facilities, administrative policies and procedures, coordination of sales and production and other processes that may contribute to the overall effectiveness of the organization Direct the Production Management Team Plan and schedule production meetings with shift managers Plan, organize and direct the maintenance operations which ensure the most effective return on assets Prepare and implements plan on how over-all plant capacity and efficiency can be increased Remove bottlenecks and making a balanced production system improvements and modifications on a continuous basis Budget Planning Monitors and controls the approved budget, in order to attain the set values Review manufacturing and packaging costs Manage spending against budget, controlling spending in relation to changes in production volume Initiate plans and processes to minimize manufacturing costs through effective utilization of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials, and capital Plan properly to minimize trim wastages Develop an Annual Quality Plan Develop and implement operational improvement systems such as the Customer Complaint and Corrective Action Reports to collect data, identify problem areas and build teams to improve the process Ensure compliance with elements of customer-vendor partnership plans Assess (in conjunction with the Controller) the Cost of Quality Ensure high level of people and plant safety is a key priority Coordinate with the Quality Manager for ISO implementation and Audits For more details, please log on to our website wwwlobomanagementcom under job category Manufacturing Job Ref # Lobo29652012 alternatively, e-mail engglobomanagementcom & projectslobomanagementcom
