About the opportunity

Our People & Places line of business has access to 35,000 professionals across the globe Our team of engineers, designers and planners work to deliver projects in Transport Planning, Roads, Rail, Bridges, Project Management, Security Services, Building Structures & Services and Asset Management Planning

Jacobs is looking for a Temporary Works Engineer to join one our Rail projects in UAE The successful candidate will work as an integrated member of the Construction Supervision team and report directly into the Construction Manager We are looking for a professional who will ensure client satisfaction and help strengthen our project delivery capabilities

The successful applicant should possess the following skills and experience

Tasked with the managing and maintaining the Temporary Works Management Plan on site Having the responsibility and attitude to ensure Health & Safety from an Engineering perspective for the company

Oversee management and control of all Temporary Works

Support and guide Project Engineers Temporary Works Coordinator on site

Carry out site audits and inspections where necessary,

Assist in training Health & Safety Managers and Temporary Works Coordinators Project Engineers

Interact with subcontractors if required

Ensure that construction work is carried out in accordance with Safe Work Method Procedures

Liaise with Contractor and Design Manager to resolve information and design issues

Ensure work is carried out within quality plans, inspections are carried out and defects rectified

Strategic and creative insight to understand the range of opportunities and be able to challenge the norm

About you

BEngMEng in Civil or Structural Engineering

Ability to review method statements and other documentation from formal submission

Understanding of construction methodology and design principles with specific reference to Temporary Works

Excellent communication skills and ability to liaise with colleagues external parties at all levels

Strong background and experience in dealing with company-wide Temporary Works construction and Health & Safety

On-site experience as an Engineer with construction experience in permanent and temporary works

Solid background of site based experience
