Job Description

Job SummaryThekey measurement of performance will be performance versus the Revenue goalsWorking within the Sales team, this position has responsibility for respondingto all Weddings & Social Events enquiries in order to maximize revenue& utilization of event spaces, working to ensure, at a minimum, delivery ofbudgeted revenues The Sales ExecutiveWeddings & Social Events will manage and convert all business, includingcontracting and managing group room and function diary inventory and events aswell as events planning The Sales ExecutiveWeddings & Social Events must demonstrate high energy levels &provide consistently high levels of customer service, in accordance with MarriottInternational Standards & Programmes Responsiblefor account management on an assigned account base and any weddingssocial events leads, ensuring revenue maximization, achievement ofpersonal targets and increasing fair market share versus competitor setReview contracts,event orders, proposals, and checking space availability for events bookedbefore sharingWork on BanquetEvents Orders, resumes and daily event postings Set upappointments and make personal sales calls, telemarketing and insidertours to all existing and potential accounts within assigned account baseand related to weddings and social eventsProactively prospects new accounts for the hotel and MarriottInternational by following the sales process through to convert intoproducing accounts Responsiblefor all wedding and social events requests including 10 rooms and aboveattached to banqueting facilities or only banqueting facilitiesDemonstrate high energy levels and focus on providing consistently highlevels of customer serviceFollow up on sent out proposals within 24 hours (1 working day) toensure the client has received the information and to clarify possiblequestions and issuesFollow up of tentative bookings for weddings and social events Follow up onlost business and bring information about them to the knowledge of thedepartment superiorManages the completion of all Group RFPsGroup Contracts solicitationsensuring they are completed accurately and in line with budgeted guidelinesEnsuring accurate follow up and communication both internally to reservationsand accounting departments and confirmation to client Re-negotiation within guidelines for allaccounts within agreed time framesEnsuring accurate follow up and communication both internally toreservations and accounting departments, and confirmation to client Keep department superiors informed of all changes in the customer profile To arrange and manage insider tours Communicating client requirements in atimely and accurate manner to all internal departments as required,ensuring delivery of superior guest service Take personal responsibility forunderstanding the Marketing plan and the required budgetary guidelines ofthe Hotel, to enable empowered decisions in all rate negotiations Assist the DOSADOS EBC in defining an annual sales action plan within set cost budgetstructure, take responsibility for the compilation of the competitor rateand product information and execute set actions accordingly Comply andexecute monthly sales action plans as agreed with DOS ADOS EBCMaintain valid call objectives and relevant action plans for each accountprospectand ensure all follow up is executed in a timely mannerEnsuring that the sales activities re aligned with hotel strategyMaintain knowledge of market, competition and customers Keep closefollow up on developments of the competitor hotels (occupancy, structuralalterations, renovation, special campaigns, rate promotions, marketing efforts,theme events etc) Also explore and compare Group traffic (who is accommodatingguests in which hotel) amongst the competitorsDetailedknowledge of all services provided by the Hotel and all relevant facts andfigures of hotelMaintain Company Brand Standards within the hotelAdhere to the Crporate HID sAssist the EBC team where required, to ensure the efficient day to dayoperations of the Sales DepartmentAttend daily departmental briefing providing accurate updates ondetails of bookings and enquiries of the previous dayEnsuring to utilize systems (Opera, Outlook, Marsha, MGS etc) to thefull capacityDocument all sales actions in OperaUpdate OPERA contact database at all timesResponsible for assigned account base statistics Supervise completionof reportsOn weekly basis, prepare an activity report which will cover sales callreports, insider tours, fam trips, new agencies, meetings, entertainment andother functions they participated in during the week and presents to DOS ADOSEBCUpdate DOS ADOS EBC on monthly resultsParticipate in marketing strategies andtake responsibility for agreed projects, such as direct marketing,production of sales collateral and advertising campaigns, in support ofDirector of Sales Understand andstrictly adhere to the Rules & Regulations established in the TalentsHandbook and the Hotel s policy on Fire, Hygiene, Health & Safety Ensure thatall potential and real hazards are reported and rectified immediatelyAdditionalresponsibilities an task can be added
