A Rotating Equipment Engineer is expected to be adequately qualified regarding rotating equipment as to be able to develop specifications & design of rotating equipments by applying the applicable international codes, standards and/or project specific requirements.
Responsible for the overall design and engineering of Mechanical Rotating quipment & systems for projects related to Industries including Offshore and Onshore Oil / Gas, Petrochemical and Refinery Processes and other applications. RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Rotating Equipment Engineer shall be responsible for the following:
Act the role of Lead Engineer in projects under the supervision of a Discipline Chief Engineer.
Update the day to day project status to Discipline Chief Engineer & project managers.
Developing basic design, detailed engineering and procurement related activities of Rotating Equipment/packages such as different type of pumps, compressors, blowers, fans, turbines and refrigeration units etc
Review & Prepare the rotating equipment Data Sheets, GA drawings, layout drawings etc

Understand & design complex and specialty types of requirement from client.

6. Recommends capital investment proposals based on studies to improve operating efficiency of units. Initiates studies for modifications to improve quality of products to compete in the international market. Coordinates with Production personnel on units condition and operation to produce the required quantities and specifications and participates in equipment or maintenance contract tendering process to final award and supervises commissioning or resultant work as appropriate.
7. Receives and reviews production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, specifications of products, and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan production.
8. Determines resource needs to meet production requirements, including labor and raw materials.
9. Prepares operational schedules establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products in order not to have disturbances for dispatch activities.
10. Provides technical guidance to his direct reports and to the Department as a whole.
11. Interprets production approach, methods, and detailed production schedules and implements corrective measures based on subordinates observations for improvements.
12. Optimizes production by reviewing operational reports and resolves operational and manufacturing problems to prevent premature failure of main aeries and to have maximum availability.

17. Evaluates and recommends improvements in usage of equipment, material and manpower after appraising current backlogs, overtime demands, service requests, performance levels, quality levels and cost effects.

·        Holding regular HSE meetings with his workforce and, where applicable, other persons, such as contractors, subcontractors, third parties and visitors.
·        Conducting regular inspections and audits of the facilities under his control in order to identify and eliminate hazards to health, safety and the environment.

Applies approved section policies, processes, and procedures and monitors adherence so that work is carried out in a controlled manner.
Day- to-day operations
Applies the day-to-day operations assigned for the Drilling Engineering Section to ensure compliance with the established standards and procedures.
Coordination With Contractors
Monitors and inspects contractors activities to ensure compliance with the terms and conditions of contract, and reports any discrepancy between contract and actual work to the Supervisor.
Reviews, checks and compiles daily work reports prepared by contractors on concerned work progress and reports to the Supervisor.
Drilling Engineering
Reviews and analyses various drilling engineering data, operation reports, statistics, and study reports, and recommends economical and safe measures for optimum drilling and workover operations. Monitors drilling and workover operations, and recommends operational options for trouble counter measures and improvement of operational performance.
Initiates and recommends specifications for equipment/tools, materials and supplies, supporting services, operation methods and procedures, and prognosis for drilling/workover/well completion practices.
Performs technical and safety inspection of drilling rigs, equipment and associated services.
Collects latest information of new technologies and methods in drilling engineering, and recommends application of such technology/method to Companys operation.
Coordinates with System Engineers for maintenance of computer system, IT network, drilling engineering application software and database.
Material Assessment
Coordinates with Material & Supply Section procurement of material requirements for well drilling, workover and maintenance activities and executes scheduling and allocation of materials & spares to ensure that operations are adequately and timely supported with required resources for timely completion of tasks.
Keeps track of resource consumption during execution of drilling operations and activities.
Contracts Management
Coordinate with contractors and inspects Drilling & Marine equipments of jack-up rig by 3rd party rig inspection service provider to ensure compliance with the terms and conditions of contract, and reports any discrepancy between contract and actual work to his supervisor.
Reviews, checks & compiles daily work reports/field service tickets prepared by contractors on work progress and reports to the Supervisor.
Reporting
Prepares section reports in a timely and accurate manner to meet Company and section requirements, policies and standards.
Collates and reviews various documents such as work completion reports, overtime reports, time sheets, requisitions and authorization for projects, supplies and outside servces submitted by colleague and contractors and prepares a variety of regular activity reports, statistics, technical summaries and other technical reports.
Budget
Assists the Supervisor in annual budget preparation, review and control on expenditures, focusing on all Drilling & Workover operation and contracts in line with Departmental goals.
Safety, Health & Environment
Complies with all relevant safety, health and environmental procedures to ensure a healthy and safe work environment
